Jennifer Deal
Executive Director
Our executive director, Jennifer Deal, came to the position after 25 years as an art educator in Broken Arrow. During her career, she taught students from kindergarten to 12th grade. Although teaching was a passion and left little time for other pursuits, she has always loved making things, and over the years has dabbled in blacksmithing, glass mosaics, book binding, art journaling, and jewelry making.
During the last decade, Jennifer has been plugged into the Broken Arrow community in a variety of ways. She worked with Broken Arrow Neighbors to plan an Empty Bowls event, which led to her involvement in the planning of BAN’s annual fundraiser: Wine, Eats and Easels. She held a position on the Board of Directors of the Museum Broken Arrow for two years and continues to be involved in special projects and events. On the board of ArtsOK, Jennifer helped with the poetry slams and Tuesdays in the Park. She has also been involved in organizing the annual Chalk It Up Art Festival, co-chairing the committee for the last three years.
Jennifer is over the moon about her new position and loves to talk about what this art center will do for Broken Arrow. She often tells people that she had her dream job for 25 years: inspiring creativity in her students. And now she gets to have her second dream job: inspiring creativity in a community. If you are in the neighborhood, please call her for a tour.
