SUMMARY:Second Saturday Art: DIY Album Covers
DESCRIPTION:Time to jam out in June! For this month’s Second Saturday Art Activity\, we’ll be creating our own album cover art. Participants will choose from a variety of fictional music acts and track lists on small CD-sized paper templates\, then use a mix of 2D art supplies to design an album cover that matches the tone\, theme\, and mood of the music. Once finished\, you can slide your artwork into a real jewel case for display. You’ll even get to draw and collage on a blank CD to complete the look! \nWe’ll be using some of history’s most iconic album covers and an eclectic playlist for inspiration. Spontaneous dancing not required\, but highly encouraged. \nThis is a free\, come-and-go family event. The activity takes about 20–40 minutes to complete. Younger children will need a grown-up’s help\, and families are encouraged to create together! \nSecond Saturday Art is powered each month by AVB Bank. Their partnership helps make these events fun and free for everyone.

DESCRIPTION:Come craft a flower friend just in time for Mother’s Day! “Grow” your little plant pal by using felt\, pipe cleaners\, a chop stick\, and ceramic pots that you can customize with acrylic markers. Whether you make a daisy\, sunflower\, rose\, or flower from your own imagination\, these googly-eyed plants are sure to make you or your loved one smile.\n \n \nThis is a free\, family-friendly activity that will take between 20-40 minutes to complete. The craft involves cutting petal and leaf shapes from felt (or colored papers if preferred)\, decorating your pot with acrylic markers\, using a hot glue gun\, and twisting pipe cleaners around a chop stick to create a sturdy stem. Sustainable apparel brand Springtime & Harvest will be launching their deubt dress collection alongside a western-inspired jewelry collection curated by Tulsa Charm Bar. Join us to meet the artists\, celebrate the opening of the new Mini Gallery\, and find the perfect local gift for the season! \n \nWhat is the Mini Gallery?\nour gift shop tucked behind the front desk will transform into something new: The Mini Gallery. \nThis reimagined space will become an immersive\, rotating pop-up gallery where artists and creators can take over for two-month exhibitions. Each selected artist will have the freedom to shape the space into something uniquely their own. Part gallery\, part shop\, and fully curated by the artist\, it is designed to feel personal\, flexible\, and alive. \nOur Main Gallery is currently booked into mid-2028. The Mini Gallery allows us to feature more local artists\, more often\, in a format that invites experimentation and direct connection with the community. DESCRIPTION:April showers bring…butterflies!  \nFor this month’s Second Saturday Art Activity\, we’ll be creating our own colorful butterfly wands outside on the South Patio. Using coffee filters and water-based markers\, we’ll color\, spray\, and watch the pigments blend and “tie-dye” into one-of-a-kind butterfly wings. \nOnce dry\, we’ll attach our wings to pipe cleaner butterfly bodies and wooden wands\, finishing them off with flutterific ribbons that float and dance in the breeze. \nThis is a free\, come-and-go family event. With Adult Open Studio\, our first floor classroom is open to adults to freely create and find community. All basic art supplies and equipment are open for participant use. Artists are welcome and encouraged to bring in their own supplies/projects as well. \nAdult Open Studio will be held on select Fridays 10am-8pm. More times will be available as the program grows. Studio entry is free to all adult Arts@302 members.
