DESCRIPTION:April showers bring…butterflies!  \nFor this month’s Second Saturday Art Activity\, we’ll be creating our own colorful butterfly wands outside on the South Patio. Using coffee filters and water-based markers\, we’ll color\, spray\, and watch the pigments blend and “tie-dye” into one-of-a-kind butterfly wings. \nOnce dry\, we’ll attach our wings to pipe cleaner butterfly bodies and wooden wands\, finishing them off with flutterific ribbons that float and dance in the breeze. \nThis is a free\, come-and-go family event. This activity will take 20-40 minutes to complete. Younger children will need a grown-up’s help\, and families are encouraged to create together! DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, January 24th 12pm-2pmAges 8-12 | $30 | Instructor: Britt Bachmann \nCreepers and zombies and ghasts\, oh my! In this hands-on workshop\, young artists will bring their favorite Minecraft characters to life. Off the screen and into 3D! \nStudents will start by sketching the characters they want to build\, then use their drawings as blueprints to design 3D versions made from recycled cardboard\, paper\, and a variety of craft materials. Along the way\, they’ll learn how to construct cubes and other geometric forms\, paint and decorate their creations\, and add textures and details that make each piece uniquely theirs. \nOnce their characters are complete\, students can keep building by adding props\, blocks\, or even whole mini biomes for their creations to explore. Come make mini donut pinatas with artist Britt Bachmann on September 13th 10am-1pm! This treat-sized craft is perfect for all ages and will sprinkle a little extra fun wherever you decide to hang it! In a kid’s room? In your office? At a party? It’ll be a mini celebration wherever you put these petite pinata pastries. \nWarning: Donut pinatas may result in a craving for real donuts. But you’re in luck! We’ll have real donuts to eat (with coffee and juice) while supplies last. \nOur Second Saturday Art program is offered each month and is made possible through generous community donations.
