DESCRIPTION:November’s Second Saturday Art Activity is Wooden Wonderblobs with Julian DeLesDernier\, our resident Woodshop Wizard! First you’ll grab some work goggles and sandpaper to smooth out your wooden blob. Then you’ll bring it to life with paint\, googly eyes\, and other fun materials. You can create a creature\, a vehicle\, or anything else you can imagine. We’ve got the blobs. You bring the wonder! \nAll supplies are provided and all ages are welcome. Children 6 and under will need significant parental help. This is a free come-and-go activity\, and most Wonderblobs can be completed in around 45 minutes. DESCRIPTION:April’s delectable SSA activity is Printing with Food with Julian DeLesDernier! Coinciding with our Art of the Meal gallery show\, we will have multiple stations ready for you to create printmaking works of art with various foods. Fun activities will include carving out potato block prints\, printing natural textures with cauliflower and celery\, and screen printing your own PB&J! \nThis is a free come-and-go event open to all ages. Anticipate 30–45 minutes to experience all stations. Small children will need a grown-up to help create with them\, especially for the carving activity. We will have complementary donuts\, coffee\, and juice for all participants.  \nOur Second Saturday Art program is offered each month and is made possible through generous community donations. SUMMARY:Gallery Opening: Art of the Meal
DESCRIPTION:Exhibit Information\nArt of the Meal celebrates the love of foods and their consumption through various works of art. Food evokes a wealth of rich feelings—euphoria\, satiation\, greed\, and cold hunger—making them a prime setup for artist interpretation. Pieces range from colorful interpretations of craveable foods to an introspective look at different foods’ symbolic meaning in our culture. \nThis juried call-to-artist exhibit includes 90 original artworks from 55 local Tulsa-area artists. Mediums include acrylic\, oil\, watercolor\, ceramic sculpture\, fiber art\, mixed media\, and art made of food itself. \n  \nReception Information\nThe opening reception will be held on Friday\, April 4th at 6:00pm-8:00pm at 302 S Main Street in Broken Arrow. This celebratory event is the first opportunity to view the full exhibit as well as a chance to meet with many of the 55 exhibiting artists. Complimentary refreshments will be available to all guests. \nAfter the reception\, Art of the Meal will continue on view through April 26th. Most featured pieces will be available for purchase. Admission to the Arts@302 gallery is always free. \n  \nGallery Hours: \nTuesday–Wednesday: 10:00am – 5:00pm\nThursday–Friday: 10:00am – 8:00pm\nSaturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm\nClosed Sunday and Monday

SUMMARY:Portrait Day: A Fundraiser Benefiting our Veterans Program
DESCRIPTION:Portrait artist and Arts@302 instructor\, Romney Nesbitt\, will be drawing pencil portraits of interested guests this Saturday\, March 8th. Portraits will be drawn for a $20 donation (or more) with all proceeds going to fund “What’s Your Story?”\, a future Arts@302 arts program for veterans. \nAll are welcome to get their portrait drawn with no appointment necessary. Portraits will be scheduled in 15 minute slots starting at 10am. Visit the gallery to sign-up for a time slot. \nPencil portraits will be 9 x 12”. Your portrait will be placed in a clear plastic sleeve for easy display. Only one person per portrait. Portraits take 15 minutes. \nRomney is a former courtroom artist and has been drawing portraits for many years. Stop by this Saturday to get your portrait drawn and to support our future program! \nAbout the “What’s Your Story?” Program\nArts@302\, in collaboration with the Military History Center of Broken Arrow\, will offer a free six-week writing and art course for military-connected adults in our community. The classes will be offered on Thursday evenings 6:30pm-8:30pm at Arts@302 March 27th-May 1st. \nClass size will be limited to ten participants. Classes will be taught by Romney Nesbitt\, MHC volunteer\, retired art teacher\, artist\, and author. \nRegistration for this program will open soon.
