DESCRIPTION:Silk Painters International Present: The Wonder of It\nShow Dates: April 2nd-May 2nd\, 2026\nOpening Reception: Thursday\, April 2nd 5:30pm-7:30pm \nThe Large Format Chapter of Silk Painters International (SPIN) is composed of 15 talented silk artists\, including two who hold the distinction of Master Silk Painter. This group is dedicated to exploring the possibilities of large-scale silk art—works exceeding 36 inches—as well as engaging in exhibitions and gallery shows. \nTheir most recent exhibition took place during the Silk Festival 2024 at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts\, where they presented a diverse collection of silk creations. \nThis upcoming show highlights the group’s mastery of techniques such as batik\, serti resist\, and three-dimensional silk work. Each artist brings a unique voice to the theme\, The Wonder of It\, interpreting it through color\, texture\, and form to capture the beauty and limitless expression of silk. \nWhat is SPIN?\nSilk Painters International (SPIN) is the premier organization for artists\, educators\, and collectors passionate about silk art. SUMMARY:Second Saturday: Butterfly Wands
DESCRIPTION:April showers bring…butterflies!  \nFor this month’s Second Saturday Art Activity\, we’ll be creating our own colorful butterfly wands outside on the South Patio. Using coffee filters and water-based markers\, we’ll color\, spray\, and watch the pigments blend and “tie-dye” into one-of-a-kind butterfly wings. \nOnce dry\, we’ll attach our wings to pipe cleaner butterfly bodies and wooden wands\, finishing them off with flutterific ribbons that float and dance in the breeze. \nThis is a free\, come-and-go family event. This activity will take 20-40 minutes to complete. Younger children will need a grown-up’s help\, and families are encouraged to create together! As always\, complimentary donuts\, coffee\, and juice will be provided for all crafters. \nmake a donation

SUMMARY:Saturday Morning Art Club: Mother's Day Edition
DESCRIPTION:With Mother’s Day approaching this is the perfect activity to do with your mom! Students will create their own faux mosaic frames using various craft materials. Students will start the class by gathering supplies and then begin to piece together their creations. At the end of class\, students will leave with their own masterpiece to highlight that favorite photo of theirs. Bring your mom and create not only a one-of-a-kind gift but also make a fun memory.  \nChildren 6 and under require an adult to be with them. All ages are welcome to have their adult join them. For siblings\, a ratio of one adult for every two children is recommended. \nsign up here
