Screen printing is the technique of creating a picture or pattern by forcing ink on to a surface through a screen of fine material. This fun all-ages workshop is a beginners guide to flat stock screen printing (on paper) and will have participants create a multi layer print of a pumpkin.
After learning the basics, you will get to travel between the 3 different stations set up in class to create your print. You’ll also learn the names of printing tools and techniques, the difference between paint and ink, and how to create a printing grid out of tape to make sure your prints end up in the same location each time. After your first print, you’ll be primed to experiment with as many more prints as time allows.
This class is open to adults and children of all ages. Children 11 and younger will require an adult to accompany them. If the accompanying adult would like to participate as well, they will also need to enroll in the class.
