Creepers and zombies and ghasts, oh my! In this hands-on workshop, young artists will bring their favorite Minecraft characters to life. Off the screen and into 3D!

Students will start by sketching the characters they want to build, then use their drawings as blueprints to design 3D versions made from recycled cardboard, paper, and a variety of craft materials. Along the way, they’ll learn how to construct cubes and other geometric forms, paint and decorate their creations, and add textures and details that make each piece uniquely theirs.

Once their characters are complete, students can keep building by adding props, blocks, or even whole mini biomes for their creations to explore. We’ll wrap up the session by combining everyone’s work to form our very own class Minecraft World!
