Mini Gallery Exhibit Proposal
The Mini Gallery is an intimate, approximately 200 sq ft exhibition space featuring rotating 2-month installations. This space is designed to spotlight individual local artists or small collaborative teams through focused, curated collections.
Unlike our Main Gallery, which emphasizes artist groups and big visibility, the Mini Gallery is intentionally designed as a hybrid gallery and retail experience. The goal is to create an environment where visitors feel invited to browse, connect, and purchase artwork in a more immediate and accessible way.
All artwork displayed in the Mini Gallery must be available for purchase. The preferred price point is $300 or less. A limited amount of space will be available for higher priced items. This pricing structure is intentional and supports the goal of encouraging first-time buyers, impulse purchases, and increased accessibility to original artwork.
Artists are encouraged to think not just in terms of individual pieces, but in how their work collectively creates a cohesive, engaging experience within a smaller footprint.
Artists should price their work with this commission structure in mind. Clear, consistent pricing across the exhibition is strongly encouraged to support buyer confidence and sales flow.
All transactions will be processed through Arts@302, and payouts to artists will be issued by check on the 15th of every month following any purchases. Taxes are handled by Arts@302.
We welcome applications across a wide range of media, including but not limited to painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, fiber art, glass, mixed media, and more.
All submitted work must be:
- Original and created by the applying artist(s)
- Of strong technical and conceptual quality
- Ready for display and sale
- Prints of original works are welcome and encouraged
AI-generated or AI-assisted artwork will not be accepted in this space.
The Mini Gallery is not intended to be a passive hanging exhibition. Selected artists will have the opportunity to actively shape the space into a cohesive, immersive environment. All plans will need to be agreed upon with Arts@302 staff.
Note: This is not an exhaustive list
Artists can…
- Paint agreed-upon walls
- Adjust modular lighting
- Use hanging system
- Minimal nails for artwork and decorative accents
Artists cannot…
- NO moving of permanent fixtures
- NO wall anchors or screws
While full structural changes are not permitted, artists are encouraged to think creatively about how to transform the gallery within reasonable logistical boundaries.
If any painting takes place in the Mini Gallery, artists will be expected to repaint the space to a neutral color at the end of their show. Supplies for repaint provided.
Final installation plans must be discussed and approved in a meeting with Arts@302 prior to install to ensure safety, accessibility, and alignment with facility standards.
Each Mini Gallery exhibition will include an opening reception hosted at Arts@302.
Reception details:
- Scheduled in coordination with Arts@302 staff
- Held on the evening of the second Thursday or Friday of the month
- Open to the public and free to attend
Arts@302 will:
- Provide the space and basic event support
- Promote the reception through standard channels
- Provide tea, water, and drink dispensers.
Artists are encouraged to:
- Attend and engage with guests
- Invite their personal network
- Consider small enhancements such as light refreshments or interactive elements (optional but recommended)
The reception serves as a key sales and visibility moment and should be treated as an important part of the exhibition strategy, not just a formality.
Along with the reception, artists are encouraged to be present during our Second Saturday Art activities. These events bring 250+ people throughout the morning and are a great opportunity to make connections and drive interest in sales.
