Pottery Wheel Throwing Party

Have you always wanted to throw on a pottery wheel? You can reserve your own private session to make any party or date night an unforgettable experience! We make it fun and accessible with step-by-step instruction. All skill levels can join and have a great time! Every guest will have one completed pot for them to keep. Limit 6 guests per party.

Ages: Ages 12+

Time: 3 hours (2-hour activity)

Available Times: Fridays 6pm-9pm, Saturdays 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Your instructor will give a brief, but detailed, demonstration on the wheel followed by everyone giving it a spin with clay.
  • Everyone will get a 2 pound ball of clay that is ready for throwing. Participants may make two pieces, but will only pick their favorite piece to keep.
  • Everyone will select one glaze color for their chosen piece from our available options. Your instructor will care for all pieces from the event. They will trim them, fire them, and glaze them with your selected color. Individuals may not paint or glaze their own wheel-made items from these events.
  • Pieces will be ready for pick-up 4 weeks after the event date.

Q. Can we bring food and drink?

A. Yes! You may bring food and non-alcoholic beverages to serve during the party. All plates, napkins, etc. must be supplied by the organizer. No refrigeration is available. All food and drink must be removed from the reserved area no later than the party’s scheduled end time. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Arts@302 property without express written permission from the Executive Director. 

Q. Can we set up decorations?

A. Yes! You may bring decorations as you see fit, with the following restrictions:

  • No decorations may be taped, pinned, or nailed to any surface
  • No flames other than birthday candles
  • No glitter or confetti

Q. When is the social time?

A. Our party packages include a 90-minute or 2-hour instructor guided art activity. The additional time is left as social time, for cake and gifts, etc. Once your party is scheduled, your instructor will contact you by phone prior to the party to discuss the structure of your party.

Q. Do adults need to be present for the party?

A. If your party includes children, all of them must be supervised by an adult (other than Arts@302 staff) at all times.

Q. When do I pay for the party?

A. There is a $100 deposit to secure your party date. This deposit will count towards your overall balance. The remaining balance is due no later than 48 hours prior to the party date.

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

The deposit of $100 is non-refundable. Cancellations must be requested a minimum of one week prior to the party date. Any cancellation made after this date will result in the forfeiture of the deposit as a cancellation fee.
