Broken Arrow, OK – Arts@302 announces the opening of its latest exhibition, Art of the Meal, with the opening reception on Friday, April 4th, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at 302 South Main Street, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.

About the Exhibit

Art of the Meal celebrates the love of foods and their consumption through various works of art. Food evokes a wealth of rich feelings—euphoria, satiation, greed, and cold hunger—making them a prime setup for artist interpretation. Pieces range from colorful interpretations of craveable foods to an introspective look at different foods’ symbolic meaning in our culture.

This juried call-to-artist exhibit includes 90 original artworks from 55 local Tulsa-area artists. Mediums include acrylic, oil, watercolor, ceramic sculpture, fiber art, mixed media, and art made of food itself.

 

Made with Love Photo Contest

Serving as a community art installation, a portion of the gallery will include 60+ pictures of local homemade meals that have been “made with love”.

These images, submitted by local community members, will each include accompanying text on why they love that dish. Submissions include favorite meals, dishes with sentimental/generational value, decadent desserts, and much more.

This contest was put together to create a unique tapestry of the real foods our community loves. Throughout the month-long exhibit, guests can cast their vote for “Fan Favorite Photo”. At the conclusion of the show, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd highest vote holders will win a gift card to Reasor’s Grocery in the amounts of $100, $75, and $50 respectively.

Opening Reception

Art of the Meal’s opening reception will be held on Friday, April 4th at 6:00pm-8:00pm. This celebratory event is the first opportunity to view the full exhibit as well as a chance to meet with many of the 55 exhibiting artists. Complimentary refreshments will be available to all guests.

After the reception, Art of the Meal will continue on view through April 26th. Most featured pieces will be available for purchase. Admission to the Arts@302 gallery is always free.
